  • The Foundation is raising funds to support the museum exhibits, community events, university scholarships, seminars in music, and preservation of the legacy of W.C. Handy "The father of the blues." 
  • From 1909 to the current year, the blues is a worldwide legacy, and  we want this to continue to be true for the future."

  • The Foundation is raising funds to support the museum exhibits, community events, university scholarships, seminars in music, and preservation of the legacy of W.C. Handy "The father of the blues."

  •  The W.C. Handy Museum and Cabin is in the heart of Florence, Alabama. Her nickname ("Alabama Renaissance City"). 
  • The W.C. Handy Cabin, Museum and Library presents one of Florence's most famous sons known as the "Father of the Blues," Handy was born in a log cabin at this site in 1873.
  •  The cabin, museum, and library contain a collection of Handy's memory papers, artifacts, and other items he donated before his death in 1958.

Handy, and impact he made in the "Blues" musical genres and styles worldwide. The compositor's life history engages and educate our generation, and enrich all the communities we serve.
